Lauren Judge was born and raised in Kitchener-Waterloo. She has explored various art forms throughout her life under the influences and support of an artistic family, and has more actively participated in the arts community since 2007. In addition to over twenty years experience in hand knitting and painting, Lauren also has experience as an arts manager, being the Executive Director of the Waterloo Community Arts Centre since 2008.
Lauren’s painting style draws on the spirit of abstract expressionism, using a poured technique with fluid acrylics. She recently began painting on paper, moving towards a more abstruse or non-objective composition, emphasizing colour and shape more than any other element. Her works invoke an emotional response from the viewer, relying on that connection between viewer and artwork as the subject matter.
Lauren has works in private collections across Ontario.
