Francesca Di Carlo was born in Pescara, Italy, where she studied art at the Liceo Artistico, Statale di Pescara. After receiving her diploma she specialized in architecture while pursuing a passion for painting.
Her in-depth study of philosophy and the history of ancient European and Italian art coupled with her Canadian experience with the landscape, have greatly influenced her painting today.
Francesca’s landscape paintings stand as visual poetry giving expression to a Romantic’s sensibility of moods, feelings, and experiences, primarily through colour.
Francesca’s landscapes are not tied to the real world of physical appearance, but rather emerge as naturalistic, lyrical idylls borne of the artist’s stirring imagination and ordered in a classical idiom.
Francesca resides in Toronto, Canada. Her paintings are in many private and corporate collections throughout Canada, U.S.A. and Italy.
